If you’ve been pining for the days of 2007, when the mark of true friendship was having someone’s BlackBerry PIN in order to BBM them “wat up” dozens of times a day, BlackBerry has a gift for you. Starting this summer, you’ll be able to send and receive BBMs from your iOS or Android device.
It could conceivably be argued that making BBM widely available destroys the last remaining shred of a reason to even consider purchasing a BlackBerry. But hey, nostalgia sells! And, at the very least, making BBM available on iPhones and Android devices is a good way to remind people that BlackBerry isn’t dead quite yet.
