A Handcuffed Suspect Slipped Away From NYPD and Into Subway

A handcuffed man arrested for crack possession slipped away from police and into the subway on Saturday, and remains at large Sunday. Exactly how he managed to get free while wearing handcuffs is not quite clear, but Lawrence Mason, 52, of Queens, apparently has some experience with this process, as the New York Post reports he’s been to jail fourteen times, mostly for drugs. After his arrest at West 116th Street, he apparently headed south on the 2 or 3 line. The police would appreciate a call if you’ve seen anyone wearing handcuffs in the last day or so.
