Some grim news broke Wednesday night: An off-duty cop in Queens allegedly shot his wife four times with a shotgun before taking his own life. The officer apparently shot the woman outside on the street a few doors down from their home, but was found dead of a gunshot wound inside the home, according to CBS New York and the New York Post. "I just heard, like, about four big booms," one neighbor told CBS, which reported that the wife was a school safety agent for the NYPD. The officer "had his police-issued weapon taken away after a previous domestic incident," the Post reports. Fortunately, the couple's 8-year-old child was found safe at a relative's house, according to the Post. Neither the officer nor his wife have been identified.
