The father of late Florida teenager Trayvon Martin left the court room today as the jury in George Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial saw photos of the 17-year-old’s dead body, including a close-up of the bullet hole in his chest. (“The jury had no visible reaction.”) The state’s first witness of the trial’s second day was an officer who responded to the shooting and attempted to perform CPR on Martin, whom he discovered face-down on the grass. A crime scene technician later walked the jury through the evidence discovered nearby, including the red lighter, Skittles, and Arizona can in Martin’s pockets. Photos of Zimmerman’s wounds were also displayed. See some of the disturbing images below, but be advised, they are graphic.
