It has been a rough week for the city’s 911 system, after it froze repeatedly on Monday and a baby died on Tuesday as an ambulance took seventeen minutes to arrive. On Wednesday, the dismal trend continued as the system crashed three more times. Fortunately, it spent less time offline than it did on Monday, but dispatchers still had to take nearly 80 calls by pen and paper, the Daily News reported. It’s probably best to just not have an emergency until they get that thing fixed.
