It’s Been a Bad Day for Ambulance Response Times

The city’s glitchy, delay-prone 911 system had a particularly bad day Tuesday as a baby in Queens died while waiting for an ambulance to arrive and a 96-year-old woman elsewhere in Queens waited more than an hour for an ambulance to show up for her call. Police and firefighters reached the baby, who had been found unconscious and bleeding from his head in his bassinet, within five minutes, the Post reports, but they waited another twelve for the ambulance.
