Carl Paladino’s Comeback Will Probably Stop at the School Board

New York gubernatorial loser Carl Paladino's election to the Buffalo school board is going about as well as one would imagine after he vowed, of his fellow board members, "I'm going to destroy them." His opposition, whom Paladino calls the "Black Sisterhood," believes "all black children should only be taught by black women, or black teachers, and that the district has to be led by a black person," he told the Times, which bravely (and amusingly) checked in with the hot-tempered Republican today. But don't expect the recent redemption narratives in New York politics to mean he's planning to pursue higher office: "I'll be leading the upstate conservative Republican movement," said Paladino. "And whoever's going to run for governor is going to have to answer to me." Ah yes, the old Buffalo school board gatekeeper ...
