Gambling Nun Jailed for Stealing From Churches

An Upstate New York nun who stole $128,000 from two Albion-area parishes to fund a gambling addiction has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and 100 hours of community service after she pleaded guilty to grand larceny. Sister Mary Anne Rapp has had better days, we’re guessing, but at least the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity have her back: “Sister Mary Anne is a member of our community and we will continue to help and support her,” they said in a statement. Very charitable.
