Upper East Side Catholic School Dean Arrested for Heroin Possession

One of these is his mugshot.

Nicholas J. deSpoelberch, the dean of students at the distinguished Regis High School on the Upper East Side, was arrested last week in Connecticut after cops found him asleep in a turned-off 2005 Nissan Altima. Inside, officers discovered deSpoelberch with “glassy eyes” and in possession of “multiple packages of heroin, five 10-milligram Oxycodone pills, four 0.1-milligram Clonidine pills, and drug paraphernalia.”

Regis, a tuition-free, all-boys Jesuit prep school, said in a statement released last night that it “is just now learning about the allegations against Mr. deSpoelberch, and takes those charges very seriously. Regis has zero tolerance for such activities. Mr. deSpoelberch has been suspended pending further investigation.”
