The New York Daily News published its second consecutive cover about the George Zimmerman acquittal today, linking Trayvon Martin directly — via an empty black hoodie — with victims of hate crimes including Emmett Till and James Byrd Jr. “When will it end?” the front page asks. Perhaps more surprising, New York’s other tabloid, the Post, has been similarly sympathetic, reporting today that Zimmerman will be getting back the Kel Tec-9 pistol he used to kill Martin with the gut-punching headline “Sent Packin’.”
