The mother of Paris Wilson, the 20-year-old suspect in the beating death of 21-year-old transgender woman Islan Nettles, has some incredible influence over at least one of Wilson's friends. Police told the New York Post on Monday that she initially brought a pal of Wilson's to the 32nd Precinct where he confessed and "told detectives that he was drunk and couldn’t remember until now that he killed the victim." But witness descriptions didn't match up, so police eventually let the "innocent kid" go and arrested Wilson.
