O’Reilly Admits He Was Wrong About Martin Luther King Ceremony

At the end of his show on Thursday, Bill O’Reilly apologized for incorrectly claiming no Republicans were invited to Wednesday’s commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, and admitted that he could have avoided the error with a quick Google search. “The mistake? Entirely on me,” he said. “I simply assumed … Republicans were excluded.” Meanwhile, GOP officials took the less classy route by criticizing the organizers for not working hard enough to cajole some Republican into speaking. The RNC says it provided other suggestions, such as Sen. Tim Scott, after six prominent Republicans turned down invitations to speak. Sure, Scott had already been asked to attend and failed to RSVP, but why would organizers assume that meant he didn’t want to speak?
