While it’s not clear what exactly led up to the fight in Vinegar Hill Saturday night, just the basic facts are astonishing: After five guys beat up a 33-year-old man, smashing a bottle over his head, the guy did not go limping off to call an ambulance as many of us might have done. Rather, according to the Daily News, “he pulled a knife and went after his attackers,” stabbing one in the stomach and slashing four others across their mid-sections, sending them all to the hospital. The initial victim, who was taken to Bellevue, suffered only “minor injuries.”
