A 22-year-old in Queens has been charged with a hate crime for the stabbing death of a stranger in yet another horrifying local example of recent anti-gay and transgender violence. Steven Torres, who is accused of second-degree murder in the Monday afternoon attack, "said the victim was blowing kisses to him. That's what set him off," the Daily News reports. "He was laughing," a witness told ABC. "He was laughing like nothing." Ever Orozco, the 69-year-old victim, had just dropped off his wife at the doctor.
