You Were Alive on the Day They Set the World Twerking Record

People said it couldn’t be done. Or maybe they said, “Sure, this could be done easily, if anyone ever tried.” Well, today they did it.

At an event in Herald Square to promote a new Fuse reality show about “Queen of Bounce” Big Freedia, 358 people twerked — or “twerked,” just look at the video — simultaneously, next to each other, for two minutes. The people from Guinness World Records were on hand to officially declare this a world record, beating the previous record of nobody-has-ever counted-this-before.

The video of this event will be placed in a time capsule and opened in two years when nobody knows what twerking is anymore.
