Police Have a Break in a 22-Year-Old Cold Case

After police over the summer renewed a 22-year-old search for information about Baby Hope, investigators say they've positively identified the mother of the child whose emaciated and abused body was found in a cooler by the Henry Hudson Parkway in 1991. They haven't yet said who the woman is, nor did the New York Times, which broke the story, report they'd made an arrest. But they did confirm her identity "through scientific evidence," thanks to an initial tip from someone who knew a woman believed to be Baby Hope's sister.
