Barneys Checked, and It’s Pretty Sure It’s Not Doing Any Racial Profiling

Barneys is pretty sure Barneys isn’t doing any racial profiling in its stores, Barneys said Tuesday, citing a study commissioned by Barneys. The five-page report, conducted by a San Francisco civil-rights attorney, found that store employees did not ask police to stop people of color who had bought expensive things, and that the cops did that on their own. Police have said Barneys store security most certainly did ask them to stop the two shoppers, both of whom have sued. Consider this issue far from settled.
