Cursed Midtown Crane Removed

The construction crane at luxury highrise One57 first achieved notoriety during Hurricane Sandy, when it almost snapped in half and hung terrifyingly over the surrounding buildings for a week, shutting down the block and forcing people to leave their homes. It was eventually secured and replaced, though it broke again on a windy day several weeks ago, leaving a 13,000-pound block of concrete dangling over the street, which was closed for hours while crews worked to get it down. Fortunately for anyone who might have a reason to travel to West 57th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues,  the boom and rig were taken down today, and Midtown is safe once again.
