Lindsey Graham Will Not Give Up on Dream of Blocking Obama Nominees Over Benghazi

Last week, 60 Minutes’ Lara Logan interviewed Dylan Davies, a British security contractor with a dramatic eyewitness account of the September 11, 2012 siege at the American embassy in Benghazi. His story seemed to raise new questions about the constantly disputed security situation at the compound, prompting Republican senator and leading Benghazi truther Lindsey Graham to once again threaten to hold up the confirmation of President Obama’s nominees for various positions until he is allowed to interview survivors of the attack. Unfortunately for CBS, Davies’s tale turned out to be a lie — he was actually in a beachside villa during the incident — and the network retracted its report. (Davies’s book was also pulled from shelves.) Despite that, Graham refuses to retract his threat. “Oversight is important,” he told CNN’s Candy Crowley today. “I’m trying to perform oversight.” He certainly seems determined to perform something.
