The story of the Chinese man who sued his wife for birthing a hideous kid — she hid her real genes with $100,000 in plastic surgery, supposedly — was "probably false" in 2004, and in 2012, and yesterday, when it finally made its way to the New York Post. A Google search of the man's name would have at least revealed it to be an old urban legend, but an increasingly good rule to live by is that almost everything amusing on the Internet is fake.
