After Brief Respite, Bloomberg Pestered for Endorsements Again

Hopefully Mayor Bloomberg enjoyed not being asked to weigh in on various campaigns for the last month, because on Tuesday, the press made a fruitless attempt to get him to endorse Governor Cuomo’s reelection bid. While Bloomberg backed the governor in 2010, he said this time he doesn’t intend to say who he’s voting for – though he noted, “Gov. Cuomo has done a very good job for the year and half he’s been governor, I guess.” After the press pointed out Cuomo’s been in office for three years, Bloomberg explained, “Well he’s done such a good job that it seems like a short period of time. It’s better than the other direction.” It doesn’t appear that Bloomberg’s obvious lack of enthusiasm for Bill de Blasio had any impact on the mayoral race, so perhaps Cuomo doesn’t care that he’s sitting this one out.
