Meet Bao Bao!

The female giant panda cub born ten weeks ago at the National Zoo finally has a name: Bao Bao. The name, which means “treasure” or “precious” in Chinese, was chosen by online voters and seems quite fitting for the second surviving cub born there since 1972. Thanks to the Smithsonian’s ever-popular panda cam, this little lady is already an Internet celebrity, so we just hope she doesn’t turn out like some others.
