During a meeting with tech CEOs at the White House on Tuesday, President Obama asked Netflix chief executive Reed Hastings if he brought advance copies of the second season of House of Cards, and expressed his admiration for Frank Underwood, the congressman played by Kevin Spacey. “This guy’s getting a lot of stuff done,” Obama said. “I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient.” Everyone laughed, but it will seem less funny when members of Congress are being blackmailed and snuffed out in parking garages.
