God Selects New York Times Story on Homelessness for a Book Deal

"Invisible Child," Andrea Elliott's deeply reported, day-ruining story of a homeless 11-year-old in Brooklyn, has been sold as a book to Random House, Publisher's Weekly reports, and will be expanded from the five-part New York Times series to "speak more broadly to the issue of child poverty in the U.S." Mayor Bloomberg must be thrilled.
