Previously known as a cold front, the polar vortex is due back in the Northeast beginning next week, if the prediction machines are to be believed. “There is the chance the cold may rival that of early January in some areas,” says AccuWeather, and the miserable temperatures will likely persist for the rest of the month. While New York flirts with the single digits, states like Florida, Texas, and California will hover around 70 degrees, but they have their own problems.
