Winter Storm Richard Sherman* Could Drop 8 Inches of Snow on NYC Tomorrow

NEW YORK, NY - JANUARY 07: A traffic police officer stands along Manhattan's Park Avenue on January 7, 2014 in New York City. A 'polar vortex' of frigid air centered on the North Pole dropped temperatures to a record low 4 degrees in New York City. (Photo by John Moore/Getty Images) Polar Vortex, the original.

Polar Vortex II: The Reckoning is descending on the northeast as we shiver, with the worst of it coming Tuesday: A winter storm watch is in effect beginning tomorrow afternoon with snow accumulation of four to eight inches expected, according to the National Weather Service. "EXTREME COLD AND LOW WIND CHILLS COULD CAUSE FROST BITE," warn the robots in their trademark all-caps. "DRESS APPROPRIATELY."

*Daily Intelligencer has, in the style of the very viral Weather Channel, dubbed this pending doom Richard Sherman, after the Seattle Seahawks hero's brilliant flurry of trash talk last night.
