Sandra Fluke Might Run for Congress

While serving in Congress may be a futile existence, it’s not quite true that no one wants in: War on Women winner Sandra Fluke is thinking about running to replace outgoing California Representative Henry Waxman, who announced today that he will retire at the end of the year. “I’m flattered that I’m being discussed as a potential candidate,” said Fluke hours later. “A number of folks I respect very deeply have reached out today and encouraged me to run. I am strongly considering running.”

Fluke, a self-described advocate for social justice, became a national celebrity when Rush Limbaugh called her a “slut” and a “prostitute” for her defense of Obamacare’s contraception coverage. Yes, she stands for something, and no, she’s not totally nuts, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t heed the lessons of Joe the Plumber.
