Springsteen Sings Bridgegate Parody With Fallon, Ends Short-Lived Christie Friendship

While being cruelly betrayed by his staff and/or having his own petty act of political retribution exposed left Chris Christie very sad, he’s managed to soldier on – but this is probably more than he can bear. For years, Christie’s undying love for Bruce Springsteen was unrequited, but after Hurricane Sandy, the Boss finally gave in, hugging the governor and telling him “It’s official. We’re friends.” Apparently that’s all over now, since last night, Springsteen joined Jimmy Fallon for a Bridgegate parody song set to “Born to Run.” (Sample lyric: “You’re killing the working man, who’s stuck in Governor Chris Christie’s Fort Lee, New Jersey traffic jam.) If you have a meeting scheduled with Christie this week, just assume it’s canceled. He’s going to need a few days to gaze longingly at his copy of Born in the U.S.A. while silently weeping.
