Earlier this year, Mayor Bill de Blasio debased himself and humiliated the New Yorkers who voted for him by eating pizza with a fork at Staten Island's Goodfella's Pizza. But, on Friday evening, some good came out of the episode: An anonymous bidder paid $2,500 for the offending utensil in an auction to benefit the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization that helps first responders and injured soldiers. The winner then returned the fork to the restaurant, where it will continue to serve as a grim visual reminder of the day the De Blasio honeymoon ended.
