Rubio Refuses to Be Kids’ Excuse for Smoking Pot

We’re long past the days of “But I didn’t inhale,” but Senator Marco Rubio still won’t say whether he’s smoked pot or not – not so much for himself, but he is so respected, it would damage the nation to hear it. Fusion’s Mariana Atencio raised the question because Florida will vote on legalizing medical marijuana in November. “I’ll tell you why I never answer that question,” said Rubio. “If I tell you that I haven’t, you won’t believe me. And if I tell you that I did, then kids will look up to me and say, ‘Well, I can smoke marijuana because look how he made it.’” Come on, Rubio. Jeb Bush and Rand Paul have admitted that they tried pot. You don’t want to the other GOP presidential candidates to think you’re uptight, do you?
