Banned Los Angeles Clippers owner and hall-of-fame racist Donald Sterling is not doing himself any favors at the end of an already terrible week. “I wish I had just paid her off,” the 80-year-old told Jason Binn of DuJour about his “archivist”/alleged girlfriend V. Stiviano. Apparently the $1.8 million apartment, four luxury vehicles, and hundreds of thousands of dollars he gifted her, according to his wife, weren’t enough. (Stiviano has denied leaking the tape of the whiny and bigoted rant.)
In his first comments since the scandal broke last weekend, Sterling also said he plans to fight the league’s attempts to make him sell the team. “Expect to hear more from Sterling, who tells DuJour he’s limiting himself to interviews with Barbara Walters and the NBA,” the L.A.-based magazine reports. Based on his relentless levels of cluelessness, those should go swell.
