Internet Helps Track Down Brooklyn Cat-Kicker

By

Over the weekend, video of a young man luring a stray cat toward him, kicking it high in the air, and cracking up with his friends as it landed in a bush surfaced on Facebook. The horrifying footage went viral, and it's a good thing so many people were able to resist the urge to do the mental equivalent of running from the room screaming. After studying the video, commenters determined that it was shot near Brevoort Houses in Bedford-Stuyvesant and contacted local police. On Monday, 21-year-old Andre Robinson was arrested, and police say he's admitted that he's the man in the video. Robinson, who has eight prior arrests, including one for knifepoint robbery, has been charged with aggravated animal cruelty. "We’re still looking for the cat. We have to see if the cat needs medical attention," a detective told the Daily News. "We’ve got guys on it."
