Ohio was already a grim place, but now what was probably the single most valuable thing in the entire state has been looted:

Police in Ohio say thieves have broken into the monument of President James A. Garfield and stolen a set of commemorative spoons.

Police say they have recovered "cigarette butts, a T-shirt and a whiskey bottle." You don't even want to think about what the thieves are going to do with those Garfield spoons.
