Rabbi, Cop, Boy Scout Leader Caught in Big NYC Child Porn Bust

At least 70 men and one woman in the New York City area have been charged with possessing and sharing child pornography, the AP reports. The worst of the worst include a police officer, a rabbi, a Boy Scout troop leader, a paramedic, and a little league coach, with victims ranging in age from newborn to 17. Some 600 computers, tablets, and phones have been seized. “We refer to each of these images as a crime scene photo because that’s exactly what they are,” said the head of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The investigation was led by undercover agents from the Department of Homeland Security, who set up an illicit file-sharing service after the arrest of a former Mount Pleasant police chief on child porn charges earlier this year, NBC New York reports. Now they’ve got dozens more, including a woman in New Jersey accused of “using Skype to pose her young child in compromising positions.” Each and every detail is uniquely horrible, and now we really need a shower.
