The violent summer season started yesterday as at least two people were killed and seven more injured within six hours, across seven separate incidents in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. Earlier in the day, one young man was killed and another injured at a cookout shooting, bringing the total number of victims for the holiday into double digits. The three men left dead were all under 21.
