Queens Man Has Slight Overreaction to Police Summons

A Queens man who was upset over being issued a police summons made things much worse for himself on Friday morning. According to the police, Richard Bolton responded to the write-up by calling 911 and announcing that he was standing near 165th Street with a bomb strapped to his chest. Bolton reportedly told the dispatcher that he intended to blow up a New York City precinct, and then do the same thing on Long Island. He was, of course, arrested and charged with threatening terrorism. As Gothamist points out, that charge — a felony — is definitely a more serious one than whatever he got into trouble for in the first place.
