John D. Rockefeller's 64-year-old great-grandson, Richard Rockefeller, was killed on Friday morning when his turboprop plane crashed near a Harrison, New York, horse stable shortly after taking off from the Westchester airport. The New York Post reports that Rockefeller, a doctor who chaired the U.S. Advisory Board of Doctors Without Borders for 21 years, was flying to Maine, having just celebrated the 99th birthday of his father, David Rockefeller. He was said to be an experienced pilot who regularly flew out of Westchester, so today's fog and low visibility may be to blame for the accident.
