An Ozone Park couple is finally in jail after horrifically beating and starving their now 12-year-old daughter for nearly two years. The girl, emaciated at just 58 pounds, was hospitalized twice, according to the Queens district attorney, but kept silent in hopes of protecting her step-siblings. “The criminal charges allege that this young victim was subjected to years of unspeakable physical abuse at the hands of her father and stepmother,” said D.A. Richard Brown, including the alleged use of a rolling pin, metal broom handle, and baseball bat. The child’s father, Rajesh Ranot, and stepmother, Sheetal Ranot, have been charged with assault and child endangerment, and deserve everything that’s coming to them and probably more.
