Following its initial mercy killing at the hands of Jon Stewart, Crossfire was rebooted last year with Newt Gingrich and Van Jones to dismal returns, and ultimately pulled from the daily CNN lineup for more coverage of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane. The show was since said to be on “indefinite hiatus,” but the network went ahead and scrapped it for good today so that Newt can spend more time with his animals — and hopefully run for president again.
