Today in questionable marketing decisions: Barnabas “Hammer” Davis was arrested at a Ramada Inn in Toms River, New Jersey, allegedly in possession of 633 wax packets of heroin labeled “Ebola.” “Different dealers have different potencies and products. Many times they are labeled with catchy phrases,” police told the Daily News. “In the past we have had Bin Laden, Hello Kitty, D.O.A., Twin Towers, 911, gumball, pow, etc.” Ace of Spades, CVS, and American Hustle? Sure. Obamacare and Government Shutdown? A bit dull, but okay, whatever. But Ebola just seems excessive, not to mention unappealing, unless you’re cynical enough to be worried about search engine optimization.
