A minor squabble on the F train this weekend erupted into an all-out brawl after a guy slapped a woman for insulting his (frankly, very ‘90s) hat.
In the video, a woman is screaming at the man in the hat, though it’s unclear what started the fight. About 1:00 in, the guy takes a swing at her and slaps her HARD, the sound reverberating through the train. From there, the whole thing escalates into a total brawl, with people piling on to hit each other. It’s unclear who the winner is, but the loser is clearly the ugly flappy hat.
Update 3:45 p.m.: Gothamist reports that four people have been arrested in connection with the F train fight:
According to the NYPD, Jorge Pena, 25, was charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct. Kevin Gil, 21, was also charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct. Danay Howard, a 21-year-old female, was charged with felony assault and disorderly conduct, and Shanique Campbell, 20, was charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct.
