Anthony from San Diego started with a decent point about the midterm elections: “I would just like to say, that the Republicans — and I’m a Republican — please do not overreach,” he said on Washington Journal this morning, as reported by Talking Points Memo. “I know they’re going to overreach, but I’m telling you, if you advocate for the repeal of Obamacare and you get too extreme, then Hillary Clinton will be elected president in 2016.”
Then he went, calmly, off the rails. “This is about race,” he said. “The Republicans hate that n*gger Obama.”
“Okay, I’m gonna stop you there. We’re not gonna use that kind of language,” said host Steve Scully as he jumped over to Beverly from North Carolina. “You can certainly make your point, but you cross the line when you use language like that. And so to our viewers and listeners, I want to apologize.”
On behalf of white America, I want to apologize, too.
