The Secret Service arrested an Iowa man who had a rifle and ammunition outside the White House this afternoon. Officials said 41-year-old R.J.“Renae” Kapheim from Davenport, Iowa, approached a Secret Service checkpoint about a block from the White House. Kapheim told officers someone from his hometown had told him to come to the White House, so he got in his car, and he did. Kapheim agreed to a search of his car, where officers found a hunting rifle and more than 40 rounds of ammunition in his trunk. He’s been charged with possession of an unregistered firearm but may face other charges.
