Egyptian Terror Group Belatedly Takes Responsibility for American Death

Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, the Egyptian terrorist group that renamed itself Sinai Province after pledging allegiance to ISIS, claimed responsibility on Sunday for the beheading of an American oil worker in August. (Previous reports stated that William Henderson had died during a carjacking.) The militants posted Henderson’s passport and IDs on a terrorist site, but they didn’t film the execution (as is typical for ISIS videos) and hadn’t yet pledged allegiance to ISIS at the time of the murder — making it downright possible that they’re simply taking advantage of an unclaimed killing.
