Yorkville Endoscopy, the Manhattan clinic where iconic comedian Joan Rivers underwent a procedure that preceded her death in August, is having its federal funding pulled. Calling the move “highly unusual,” the Times reports that patients will no longer be able to use Medicare or Medicaid to pay for procedures performed at the clinic. Yorkville’s federal funding is officially being revoked on January 31.
