An off-duty NYPD officer was beaten on Wednesday morning in Harlem in a seemingly random attack, according to police. DNAinfo and CBS report that the cop, who was on her way to work, had just left a Dunkin’ Donuts on 125th and Lenox, when a guy who had been acting strangely approached and began kicking and punching her. The assailant fled, though a man has now been arrested in connection with the beatings. The officer was not wearing her uniform when she was mauled, and police still aren’t sure what set off the suspect. As for the cop, she’s been hospitalized with some bruises and cuts to her face, but no serious injuries.
