The owner of a cat that clawed its way back to life after being prematurely buried is suing the local Humane Society, because the latter won’t return Bart to his care after paying for the cat’s medical bills. Ellis Hutson claims the Humane Society is keeping the cat for publicity and fundraising purposes, while the organization says it’s simply keeping the cat “safe and secure.” Either way, a highly public custody dispute is probably not what Bart fought his way back to life for.
