The U.S. economy should throw itself a little dance party today in celebration of its twelfth consecutive month of welcoming in more than 200,000 jobs. The just released jobs report shows that 295,000 jobs were added to the economy in February, and the unemployment rate is down to 5.5 percent — the lowest it has been since May 2008. Food service and bars saw the most job growth last month, but the second biggest gainer was professional and business services, which appears to show that growth isn’t solely coming from low-paying jobs. On average, the economy has gained nearly 270,000 jobs per month over the past year.
