Things Got a Little Crazy at the Opening of This Queens Daiquiri Bar

People love frozen cocktails, but they hate long lines. Case in point: a huge Friday night fight at the opening of the Fat Tuesday daiquiri bar, which is located in Ozone Park’s Resorts World Casino.

Dozens of people participated in the brawl, which broke out among a crowd of hundreds of daiquiri-seekers. (WABC reports that the wait time was around an hour and a half.) A witness told the New York Post that some young women were to blame: “Two girls started this whole thing. They came in with their groups. Before you know it, they started looking at each other, they started bumping into each other and then all hell let loose.”

The chaos — which, as you can see, included shouting, various types of hitting, stuff-breaking, and chair-throwing — eventually spread to the casino’s food court and parking lot. “It looks like 15 to 20 people were actually fighting among 300 to 400 patrons who were terrified and trying to get out of the way,” a police source told the New York Daily News

A cop and four security guards reportedly sustained minor injuries while attempting to get the situation under control. Meanwhile, the Post reports that two men were arrested for disorderly conduct (another was issued a summons for the same crime). The NYPD is also searching for a 22-year-old man who is believed to have fired a gun outside Resorts World.

Sounds like everyone could use a nice, calming daiquiri.
