Scott Walker told radio host Dana Loesch last Friday that legislation making ultrasounds mandatory for women planning to get an abortion in Wisconsin highlights his social-conservatism credentials. “The thing about that,” he explained, “the media tried to make that sound like that was a crazy idea.” He, on the other hand, thinks “it’s just a cool thing out there.”

He then went on to explain his hopes for the law, which had little effect on the lives of people who were already eagerly swapping ultrasound photos before 2013. “We just knew if we signed that law,” he said, “if we provided the information, that more people if they saw that unborn child would, would make a decision to protect and keep the life of that unborn child.”
